the ACGME site lists pertinent information about programs (i.e., salary, call schedule, etc.). There is also the average amount of work hours listed. One program might have 60, while another might have 80. Are these numbers really even accurate? I'd obviously rather work 60 hours a week, if the teaching is still good, than adding 20 more hours of scut, but I don't know if these numbers have any credence or not. Thoughts?

Programs have to list that information because of the 80 hours requirement from the ACGME. This is a number that is averaged over a 4 week block.
