i like both cardio and neuro..
cardio is one branch i liked from medical school but have heard about gruelling im residency and very busy life after doing cardiology..no time for personal life...money factor is more here i suppose..

n for neuro..i love it..but have heard about the doctors getting frustrated coz of long treatment of patients..

please seniors do explain both pros and cons of both these specialities while doing residencies and post residency life....

With this last post, you do not sound very interested in the specialty and its pleasures or frustrations, looks more you like the $$$$. That is easier to find out! in 5 minutes surfing the internet.... Why don't you go to Wall Street and work in a bank?

well m nt interested in money...i like the subject...if i would have i would better post this topic in medicine topic and think of doing cardiology doctor..

its just for information....did u never ask anyone or surf the net about how much neurophysician earns? u would have for sure....nod

i dnt knw much nerve09...bt this is what i got info frm my engineer cousin..he said he earns about 80,000 and his wife abt 40000...and they r really living their life..havng gr8 weekends and even they go abroad once or twice a year...
so as neuro earns 1.8 - 2 lac per annum...i think thats sufficient to survive...more than sufficient..so finally interest in subject matters...

of course cardio earns abt 4 lacs..bt what to do with that money if you dnt have time to spend it???nod

i don agree with caudeus_indyadisapproval..i mean if u wanna enjoy ur life i feel u can do so, in any professionnod..u just need to be smart to figure out how u wil get tht.. coz my personal experience i know many many docs who enjoy thr lives go for yearly world trips, cruises, n also have sum good practice....wel, if it was avg money desired, then i don think v need to slog ourselves this much..v cd just take any seat v get, go ahead to live the avg life is my opiniongrin
i guess the grass is always greener on the othr sideraised eyebrow

dont worry pal, u can count on me...and definately u are not knocking the wrong door...... every normal human being thinks about residency and the postresidency, thats why many are confused about the ROL....on feb 27th.
anyway I have 3 friends who recently finished their neurology residency . they started working on July 2007 directly after the residency without any fellowships......

1st got an offer for 270,000
2nd got an offer 200,000
3rd works at 1 places, and imagine additionally she is working is working at different palce only once per week .from that day once per week alone she is earning 60, 000$

Mashaallah.........I dont want to give her the evil eye, she deserves itgringrin
