the link is not working

i think usce counts better than research

research only useful for university programs but after having usce

may be am wrong

research is good, if you get something, published even better.
USCE is more important if you don't get something published...but there's something good about research, you can get contacts, letters, and USCE at the same place... there are not any places that I know that encourage FMG...most accept foreign researchers...but most want people with experience...
try to look for something in clinical research if you don't have experience in basic research...

how to apply? look for investigators in the field that you like (medline) and where you have some experience...write cover letters (intention letters) stating your interest of working with X person and send it along with your resume and LORs if possible. You can also check CRISP to look for people with NIH grants (money)... if you need visa you can ask for J1 research visas (no waiver)...not the same J1 for residency.
