Anybody got IV call from UPMC international scholars program?? I got a call and made all arrangements and now I noticed that they dont participate in the match- (only the International Scholars Program) and they want you to decide in November-December if you are accepted- seems a bit fishy since you wont have even finished interviewing at other places Anybody interviewing there??anybody already there??

Prepare ur research plan well. They ll ask u in detail. I know a guy who got admitted there. It's a good program as u can rotate through the UPMC schedule most of time, which is a very good hospital.

If it's the research u ve done before, I would be astonished if u can't recall every detail, as every paper is like our own kid...unless u have too many publications You shud be able to answer any qs about ur research. Unless the PDs r in the same field as u r, it's not possible for them to surpass u in ur field. I became a teacher everywhere I interviewed as long as they dared to start asking my research. That ll put them in disadvantage. Therefore u shudn't be afraid of that. I sometimes quizzed the interviewers, then disclosed answers to help them understand what I did. Most like it.

Yes I agree MPH with this fact that you are aware and kind of master of your studies. But I am surprised how can they manage questioning about biology methods and mol. studies? For clinical research one did, is easy to talk as it is straightforward. Thank you very much for your input, do you have interviewed recently there? Are they both PD and ISP PD present ?

medstar, check Pennsylvania iv experience, u ll find UPMC. However, plz be reminded that I am for category position, not international scholar position, so I dont know who the ISP PD is. I dont know if they ll ask lab work details, but u ought to know ur work and its application in the clinical world, otherwise bench work is just ur personal interest, not interesting to the PD at all. BTW, sometimes they invite u probably bcz they have some people with similar background as urs, so be well prepared that they ll throw these guys at u. They surely will know ur work, even if it's fancy molecular biology. Hi, deja_vu, I think PGI2-A is just trying to clarify my gender and orientation.
