Thats AMG invite thread pal. GS is not that competitive for AMGs. And they get the first preference anyway, so i think now is the time to wait for img invites in GS , because those programs who consider img applicants will now check their amg applicant pool and then invite img application accordingly. at least thats what seems logical to me. Any other interpretations would be interesting.

Was this the same story last year, I mean was interviews going out to IMG's just as late or is this year going to be a disaster. I havn't heard from any of the GS programs that I have applied to......... 65 in all

the doctor I'm doing research with told me that they (the program he's affiliated with) hasn't sent out invites/rejections yet, and he's pretty sure that most programs haven't started sending theirs also - that's the case for surgery every year, so he tells me. And i have to agree, if they do send out invites, its probably to the AMGs first, a reality we have to accept. But we will have our turn.
I'm an applicant last year, and I can see the same pattern for this year - interviews for surgery started to come around third week of september, but that was only short-lived. There were probably 2-4 weeks of silence after that initial batch of invites sent out, then by the end of october, invites started coming again, and continued to arrive even as late as 3rd week of december. bulk of invites (and rejections) came around november, i believe (and based on posts from last year).

I was pretty confident in the begining, now that seems to dwindle.

true. l applied last year and the deluge of rejections came in late october and november. i got a couple inivitations in december. so keep your faith up
