Hi for those who took the exam were the questions on the usmle cd similar in structure to the real test or is it harder, I am doing UW now and I think that the questions are a bit tough. I did the Usmle cd and scored 80% two weeks ago but I am unable to score higher than 47% individual test , cummul 61% on usmle world. I am doing a mock UW tomorrow but even for that I am freaking out. My test date is 29th October. this is my 3rd attempt at this exam and I am really feeling down now after doing UW. How do I know that I am ready, I cant, I wont fail a third time. The other problem is I feel like I am studying in circles I learn topics and when I come back to it I am blank. I feel like throwing in the towel, but I have to fight back, i would appreciate some input thank you all

61 % is really good on UW...and 80% on the CD is also very good..look at the scores thread and figure out for urself..that should boost your confidence.. did u give any NBMEs yet???

hey i would reccomend that u take an nbme online it'll show u where u stand and most imp your weak areas..i found the questions a lot like the usmle cd but i would not reccomend u to use it to assess where u stand nbme online is best for that . ..i would suggest that u read a topic lets say cvs and then solve cvs related questions in timed mode from u world...u can break it down further eg. doing cvs from pharma and supplementing it with cvs pharma questions then from patho ..the key is repetion and revisions ...backing every topic u read with questions reinforces it......if u are using fa as a review tool then u could go thru it every sunday..also if yur nbme looks favourable then practise doing seven blocks at a stretch ...i hope this helps...good luck.

thanks for the imput I am doing the uw subject wise, after I cover path I do questions and this why the uw score is 61% cummul and I then I do 25-50 blocks and it falls to 45% or lower and it shatters me and I have just been hitting those questions and it hits back and my score fall. ( I am getting afraid of doing those questions) I am doing nbme but it is the downloaded one, I got all 4 how do I use that to correlate a passing score, it is just the questions with the answers at the end. Can I use % like with uw or kaplan q bank. I WOULD USE UW FOR MY MOCK AS IT WOULD GIVE ME ANSWERS with explaination (DOING THIS TOMORROW) 150 QUESTIONS THEN OTHER 150 QUESTIONS FROM NMBE 1 (the downloaded one) just having some one holla back is great and it lifting my spirits again thanks all for the response

hey first and foremost don't be afraid of getting the answers wrong uworld is a bit tough but is a great learning tool...learn from it and keep some time to redo wrong questions questions .... i still strongly reccomend that u do at least one online nbme and use the downloaded ones for later review..the main reason is the way a online nbme scores u and shows u yur weak aeras is very predictable also if u get a 450+ score u are sure to pass .....it'll remove a part of the stress fromyur mind. if subject wise is not working well then solve u world topic wise eg. cvs only from pharm this really helps to reinforce core concepts .....spend an hour everyday revising stuff u got wrong on u world that day it'll help retain things better.
