NBME 1
44. a 50 year old man who has had MI was subsequently diagnosed with familial hypercholestrolemia, an AD disorder. His son has not been tested for hypercholestrolemia. what is the probability tht the patients granddaughter , through his son , will have hypercholesrolemia?
a. <1%
b. 10%
c. 25%
d. 33%
e. 50%
can anyone give answer with explanation?

c, 25%
1:2 chance of son being +ve, and then another 1:2 chance of his daughter being +ve.
thereore probability is 1/2 multiplied by 1/2 that is 1:4, or 25%
