I have worked for this attending for last one year. She is fairly impressed with me and we have co-authored some research proposal recently. She is specialist.

I want interveiws in IM. My application is very incomplete (step 2 ck pending). She is happy to help me anyways she can. She ofcourse has written good LOR for me.

I was thinking of asking her to call programs. Should she call program directors? should she call residency coordinators?

Honestly, calling PDs would be a waste of her time. Physicians calling in get to talk with me - and I am not a decision maker. Have her email PDs on your behalf, an email can be attached to your application, a letter can't.

Thanks for that information. I greatly appreciate it. I want to bring my appilcation to their attention since it is incomplete and may not ever be reviewed by some programs without her call/email.
