Hi! I'm an old IMG (1999!!!) with 2 kids and a third on the way. I have been studying (with many long breaks) and reading this very helpful forum on and off for almost one year. Since I'm at home it is very hard to be constant. Everybody thinks that since you don't have a job you are flexible with your schedule and so I very often end up postponing my study because of thousand small things that I have to, or that I feel I have to take care of. I hope that writing this journal will help me be stronger and stick to my program. Since 2001 I'm completely out of the clinical field and so you can easily guess that I forgot everything! I'm now reading for the first time Kaplan and at the same time I'm trying to get the concepts a little bit deeper using the books that I was using in medical school...so it is taking me a long time. This last few weeks I have been busy with the nervous system and I will start today reading the part of Kaplan concerning it. Here my program for today: -chapters 1 to 9 of Kaplan Nervous System

Welcome to journal world, keep it up , sometimes FT stay home mom is busier & more stressful than FT working , since at work has fix time , limitted duties to deal the work, mom's duties unlimitted boundryless with working hour as mom is even at home or outting with family or only stay at home is 36 /10 not 24/7 with emergency , unexpected, short & long term plan decision .. u never get bored or have time to rest physically & mentally , so be strong, focus at any task study or family ... use time as permit efficiently for study .. with right materials .. then u will do good at exm. Need any help pm forum friends, most are mom , most are busy stay home mom, but even not all are willing to help . GL GL GL happy success study to us ,all

Thanks for the encouraging words! The goal of this week is to read (and try to memorize as much as possible) the Kaplan chapters concerning neuroanatomy. I really don't like it!!!!
Does anyone know if Kaplan is enough for neuroanatomy?

I did it!!!! It took much longer than I hoped but I did it! I finally managed to read Kaplan neuroanatomy and hopefully something will remain in my head . I'm so glad because it is a chapter that I really feared. The plan for the next two days is to read the physiology of the nervous system.
