Hi,

I was wondering what it takes to receive a call from a good comm hosp affilated university program or a university program. I am a GC, with 94,96 scores, recent graduate, 2 months USCE( observership), 1 U.S. Lor.I have no research exp or publications. The calls I received so far not very encouraging. That's the last place I want to go like bronx, St.Barnabas....

What are your thought's on this guys?

aspire can you name the programs that have called you. That might give a better idea. Besides very few good programs have started calling, mostly its the kind of programs that you talking about that called early on.

[quote=aspire]They are all community based programs like Crozer Chester, Lutheran, St.Barnabas, Bronx Lebanon.
Rejections from UT southwestern, UTMB Galveston, York hospital program.
Really feeling bad about UTMB..sad

The match is increasingly competitive.

If you are called by a program, treat it as your only IV

Agree with robin 100%

I totally agree with robin. I feel we should not "look a gift horse in the mouth" because if u are not enthusiatic about a program, its likely to show during ur interview.Whatever opportunity is presented to us, we should make the best of it!

a wide spectrum of ppl will be applying right?so its hard to say what programs want..only they know..e.g. a guy with 271 on step 1/2 will get a lot more calls INITIALLY than say someone with 210 step 1/2..a university program might choose someone with less scores but lotsa research..amongst 2 candidates with equivalent research they may then go on to choose the candidate who is a more recent grad or vice versa..a community program or university affiliated program would like to hook a stellar 99 candidate by offerin an early interview n a pre-match..so its all in the heads of the program directors..
