There's no such a thing as a Dean's Letter in my country. All information about your performance at school is in your Transcript. However, in almost all US residency programs a Dean's Letter is required. I also know that the ECFMG serves as a Dean's office for IMGs. Thus, does ECFMG certification cover this gap through ERAS applications for IMGs applying for programs requiring Dean's letter? Any advice would be much appreciated

On ERAS you can dowload a Guide for the preparation of the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), which is the new name for the Dean's Letter. Your Dean can prepare a letter following that format. There is a template that is like a checklist. If your school (like mine) has never prepared an MSPE before, it might help to prepare a template in Word for your Dean to work from, instead of making him read the full guidelines.
