ok we all know that GERD can predispose you to Barret esophagus and from there to Adenocarcinoma. That is a metaplasia of changing the esophagus tissue to stomach tissue. Now for some reason I have in my head that you can reverse esophagus of Barret with treatment, but BUT medstudy says that is irreversible the change and that only gets better with treatment. So my question is reversible yes or no? thanks

Aggressive antireflux therapy can cause partial regression of the specialized intestinal metaplasia in Barrett's esophagus source: UpToDate so: yes however, it is not clear that this apparent regression is beneficial after all. anyways, that's the answer.
