Hi i would like some input.
I took my exam on the 28th i feel i did not perform well after my computer just crashed during my third block and it took them 10 min to get it back up and running.
It was really nerve wrecking and a horrible experience and once they got it back up i had totally lost all my concentration.
So i dont know what to do and i was wondering if anyone else has been in this sort of situation and should i contact the ecfmg and complain will they take this into consideration do you think they might let me retake the exam?
I really do think when an exam is so vast and important descrepencies like these should not occur and if they do the examinee should should be given an option of retaking it what do you think do i have a case to talk to the ecfmg people?

I think you should report this asap. Contact ECFMG and explain what happened with details. I think it is our duty to do so when technical problems of this sort occur during exam.

I agree with you that all these malfunctions must be taken into consideration by ECFMG...
Please re-read all disclaimers on ECFMG website, as well as new 2008 brochure... If there is nothing about this, I think you could claim the retake provided that you have failed... But, and most likely, you will need help of attorney to write that claim... So, I really don't know... IF you PASS with a score which you don't like, then there will be another story... In this, second case you are better take what you will be given...

donjuan ask the prometric center where you took the exam to send a report of what happend on the day and you can contact ECFMG and tell them what happend too.

Its really very sad to know such things happen. Well good luck and hope you get a great score.

Sorry doujuan for your experience. I guess most of time, you may not be allowed to retake it since it is a common problem to many people. I encountered that in my step 1 exam. Sorry to say this.

hi njcjzy i do understand what you are saying but i think that lapse in concentration will be my either passing the exam or not i missed like atleast 10 or 15 easy questions which i should have got and would have got if that did not happen and my exam was really tough so i am not sure what to make of it.

congrats on your step1 i think i might use your method of FA usmleworld and qbank do you think that material is sufficient to get a 99 like yours or do you recommened i do golian 2 and the lectures from kaplan.
