i too have been repeatedly advised to practice UW cases on the usmle CD but i dont understand how...do i just open one of the cases USMLE has given as an example and instead of managing the given patient i imagine my patient and order accordingly...of course the output will not be appropriate but i guess i look at the UW sheet for that...sounds a lil bit chaotic but if this is how its done then so be it...but if this isnt the way could smone be kind enuff to correct me please!

thats exactly the way. the objective here is to get a hang of typing in orders .... short forms, iv prefixes etc. so that u save time on the exam. so what i did is ,, i used to take a case from uw read the case presentation. then go on and type either physical or orders. and then check back on the notes to see if i did right. then type in the next orders and check .......... ( and for results look at the uw sheet as mukho correctly mentioned) so u keep recollecting as well as practising typing and using software.......... i think thats the best way u can use uw ..... instead of just reading through it,,,,,, will take time ....but u will feel more confident......
