Hey every1 ..I am writing what I think I would do to prepare my self for the IVs...plz add your input... 1. I will study their website carefully 2. study whatever stuff will be mailed to me by the program coordinator 3. try to find out who will be interviewing me and then try to find about that person's areas of interest ....how to do that? 4. read up some book for most common questions asked in the residency IV and try to compile my likely answers 4. medical related questions should be covered with the step 3 prep 5. make a folder for each program and keep all info related to them in it 6. try to contact ppl who have interviewd there and find out about their experiences. what do u think of that? any other suggestions???

all ur ideas are look good.Check out match prep center, collectibe work.U'll find alot of interview stuff there. you can also do a search of the place u are goin to interview on the forum, it will give u an idea of what their interviews are like and if medical q's are asked there is also the "present an interesting case"

I am also thinking fo making a program score check list , like the one given Isersons. it will help me know what questions i might need to ask from the program and will help me in deciding ROL/Prematch.

I have a question: How would we know who will be interviewing us? In the confirmation of interview email, the program coordinator did not specify who will interview me, so how could I tell? Is is possible to request that info from the program coordinator?

I think it's a good idea to have dinner with the residents. This is a good opportunity to show your social skills and score points w/ them.

Attending dinner with the residents is a gud idea. One it gives an opportunity to open up before the interview. Second u can ask qs from the residents/ interns abt the program. Sometimes residents even give feedback to program abt the dinner.

I also think Dinner before interviews are good..one more plus: the next day we will feel more relaxed having met with candidates and some residents.

What is your experinece so far with dinners? From 5 IVs I have only one place that offers a dinner. I am planning to attend, I think it's good to meet the residents- one will get an idea of what a program is looking for and first-hand information from people we are less "afraid" of ... I am pretty sure that not every place offers them (expensive and time consuming), what do you think?
