Loma Linda requires PTAL before they do their rank list. You need to have it in January at latest, otherwise they will not schedule and IV w/o it. I know because I talked to the PD. I don't know about other programs.

Hey MPH what adventist hospital have your morked in? jajaja What did you hate the most? the food? jajaja I don't know I guess he was willing to make an exception for you but although he was super nice to me he did told me that to be able to get me a formal IV with the rest of the staff, I should get the PTAL before january and since I don't have a SSN I am not going to go for it. It's a shame...a very probable opportunity for me gone to the drain. Well, he is a really nice guy though, hope all PD's are like him. I guess it's and adventist thing jijiji (P.S. I am also and adventist but I hate vegetarian food!!! jajaja) grin

Dear veens and GLO MD,
I worked for the Loma Linda Adventist Hospital system in one developed East Asia country. I know this PD bcz he spent several months in our hospital as visiting professor in 2005.
Do u really know how Adventist work?
I basically had no Sunday(we only have Saturday off), and...we had to donate 10 to 15% of our salary to the hospital's church. Most importantly, I am not a vegetarian but the hospital restaurant only provides non-meat stuff. Also, u ll have to attend all the meetings held by the priest inside the hospital.
I dont hate Loma Linda at all(Thank them for giving me training), but I think I deserve better place as I am not that desperate now.

jajajaja!!! Off course I know darling...I am an adventist, I was born an adventist, my whole family is and many of my very close relatives are very prominent pastors (what you call priests). I know how the Adventists work, and I would not mind since I grew up like this. I don't mind giving part of my salary because I will give it away anyways wherever I end up...for us it's not giving away you see... it is returning part of what God has given you so kindly.... And I also don't mind to rest on saturdays because it is a more important day for me than sundays....I told you I just don't like the vegetarian food that much but I can tolerate it.

I think that for someone who is not an adventist it would be quite difficult. For me it wouldn't at all. Those are things I do even without being ask to do so. Good luck mph hope you get what you want.

Oh by the way.... maybe we are not talking about the same PD because to my understanding they just did a change so I don't think he would have been there back in 2005...I might be wrong though...

Hey harji no no!!! not at all I have no problem with mph I was just making a statement, I guess sometimes I sound rougher then I would like but I don't have a problem with anyone I apologize if I sounded like I had. And no it is not a bad question, to my knowledge it is a good program. I was just trying to say that is is totally understandable for someone to have a hard time getting used to some of the things in a hospital like Loma Linda if you hadn't experience it before, that is all. Take care and hope I sounded clearer this time around! nod

No, GLO MD. U r not making me annoyed as I dont see any offending stuff in ur post. I like to work with and do have a lot of Adventist friends(now u r one of themsmiling face). U guys r probably the nicest ppl. in the world(and longevity).
My qs is: Dont u mention this SSN thing to them and ask for an exceptional pass? As u can always get a Cali letter when u r in. I know they are VERY INTO adventists. And u surely will be happy, very happy there.
