What does paradoxical disinhibition mean?

Its a benzodiazepine induced hyper-reactive phenomenon. It takes the person to the extreme end of emotions, removes all inhibitory and suppressed signals resulting in extreme pychosis and agitation, paranoia and depression. Its a rare occurence in pts taking the drugs.

its not rare...
it occurs because the GABA neurones are inhibited first...there is a balance of excitatory and inhibitory neuronal circuits in CNS...
first inhibitory neurones are inhibited...causin excitation...

if it had been rare...it wud have been a sideeffect rather been in a graph which shows the different stages with response to disease.. smiling face
