i agree but that would be the scnerio when u go ther for iv. so u can definitlya apply in same hopsital only if u are invited at the same hospital for both surgery and med then u ve to think about the issue then. i think thee wud be very few hospitlas that have simiar critera about inviting imgs to both surgery and med.

Only if the surgery coordinator and I have lunch together and compare lists. No, I haven't done it.

if u dont have any visa issue then prelim surgery instead of IM is a gud choice if u are a die hard fan of doing surgeyr. but if u have visa issues then may be its not so easy decesion. i didnt applied to any other specilty other than surgery but for a guy like me who rquire visa the battle of nerves is far from over as i dont have that much ivs in surgeyr to sit back and relax. my fate will be hanging from a thin thread till the day of match. but well i dont repent on it as i cant think of myself doing IM for my entire future life.

but if u dont mind doing IM for the rest of your life and u have visa issues then do think about applying to both im and surgry. i am not saying thet you should apply to both but i am saying give it a thought. know the risks and benfits of both and then decide about it.

Thx guys. It is a difficult choice when you want GS and would probably have to settle for IM due to visa issues, but I don't know about you guys by the IV's from GS have been pretty scarce even though scores and CV are good . I just hope that december brings more luck.
