I haven't invited anyone yet, either. I guess we are in the boat together.

I have not recieved any invitation yet, I heard that the majority of programs will start sending the invitations by early to mid October. Ofcourse some hospitals have sent some inviatations earlier, You must have heard that already.........Good Luck for all including Myself. Dont Worry, We will Rock, I will do watever it takes me to enter the Residency, Watever the Cost... I hope that was encouraging for all of Us., And here I am adding the smiling face that is usually being posted by the 99ers Group.:

angelspark said same here but just talked to my friend in us and he said most of the i/v are going to high nineties. He got just one (doesnt need visa). He said most of the i/v have already been called and no hope of any more) I would Say that we dont need the comments of such people like angelspark who is saying nothing but a very negative thinking, wat does angelspark want us to do...........??? just to withdraw ourselfes after the difficult journey of USMLE exam. I would advice angelspark to withdraw him/herself if he/she believes that there is no hope at this time....!!!! war are u waiting for...??!! All wat we need rt now is the encouragement and positive attitude, we are on the way of our Victory....Yes we are... and i would like to tell angelspark not to take it personal but wat angelspark said was too depressing........... Again Good luck for those who are Optimistic, and as i said, the majority of Interviews will be sent by early -mid October, till that time just be strong and faithful...

angelspark wrote: hi i didnt mean to depress you guys i was just stating what he had told me that too from his prospective dont feel depressed guys if you persist you will win god bless I know those words didnt come from your mouth angelspark, and no offense to you.......but your friend is a doo-doo head poo-poo face. The interview season has BARELY begun, and rightnow....programs that are offering interviews are looking at the upper tier of applicants. The REAL season begins next month into December, where Im sure everyone here will have plenty of interviews to brag about. There are some people out there that just love to give false hope. I remember when I told one of my "friends" that I got an 81 on my Step 1, and he told me that I had no chance for residency because nowadays every IMG needs 87+ to get a spot. He recommended that I quit medicine and start working at a gas station and/or Subway so that I could get some money flow going. Thank God I havent spoken to him since......... Guys.......there are ALWAYS positions out there for ANYONE. If you dont believe me, take a look at the unmatched list after match season is over. Our job is to make ourselves look good to each and every program, and I guarantee every one of us will have some interviews lined up come OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, and DECEMBER. Until then, lets give each other hope, advice, program info., and bug the crap out of BBB for all the help that we need. My prayers are with you all..............Good Luck !

My friend was talking to me yesterday she matched last year, she told me she had got 10 ivs by the end of sept last year, & I have got only1, that was so depressing, but then I came out of it, & told myself not to listen all that crap.....I am sure the real season begins in october. & I will and we all will get lot more ivs!!! Cheers! Stay hopeful guys!

Hi Guys, I have my share of such "FRIENDS". When i first started studying for Usmle, she said by the time you will be ECFMG certified you will be five yrs out of medical school, it will be very hard to get residency since you have no clinical experience at all. I studied anyways. I scored above 90 in both step, she said "well dont count on it, these days everyone scores that much, plus you dont have any experience" Then i tried getting USCE, just managed to work with a pvt physician, she said "well programs know this is no real experience since in USA you are never allowed to touch a patient so practically you got no experience, you have to get in a teaching hospital" I got 2 weeks of observership in teaching hospital, she said observership count for nothing. During 3rd-4rth week of sept i have 6 IVs, she said "its only because of your green card" although the places who called me also called people who require visa and give H1 and accept J1. I am thankful to this friend. She keeps me going. If it werent for her, i dont think i would have been this determined!
Goodluck to everyone here, We Will Succeed InshaALLAH!

gosh sarika, you have got a "real" friend... what would you do without her??? lol... good for you to take all her negativity and actually make it work for you... I must admit i have a couple friends in that category. However, I have a friend who applied late-oct 2007, got only 2 IVs, and matched! it's a gamble we are taking... but how can we win if we fold! Gotta put in your hat and aim big! my appys were not in ERAS on sept 1... applied to some programs a few days ago... but I plan to MATCH!!! despite the "friends" who have said its too late!
