does an attempt in step2 cs lessens our chances of getting an interview with otherwise good scores and not requiring visa.

Hi! An attempt at CS is seen as a negative in your cv, but it varies between programs. Its nothing as compared to an attempt in step 1 or step 2 ck. People with an attempt at CS do manage gud programs, so it is relative as to how much it effects ur chances.
