What is an Indication of poor outcome on Stress EKG

**patient is 58 y.o. male who underwent a stress EKG

--In the explanation it states that a failure to achieve a heart rate of 120 is an indication of poor outcome

-one of the choice in the multiple choice was failure to achieve Heart rate of 160-----which is wrong

------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------

I dont get it....

*since pt. is 58 y.o......Max HR= 220-58(age)= 162.........so wouldn't failure to achieve 160 be right?????

yeah her rate must be > 135 cuz you need to take 85% of here maximum HR

here maxium HR is 162 as you said -->85% of 162 = 137bpm. so if pt's HR is less than that which means the test has poor outcome......... please correct me if i am wrong.... we're here to learn + share

I understand now......you are right.......

its 85 % of 162........nod
