We all talk about how we are feeling these days and not much about how our loved ones are supporting us through all of it. I thought we can share some thots today as it seems like a dull day for me. It is so quiet everywhere today.....no emails, no messages on ERAS, no new posts about inv on this forum. I am starting to get anxious now, though I know its the last week of Sep and early Oct that most prog send inv calls ( this I read on the forum) My husband was trying to make me feel better and said you know its the lull before the storm ! Although he is the one much more ansy than me, checks my email like zillion times a day, first thing he wakes up and last thing he goes to sleep! He did all the reaserch about which programs to apply to( I was merely helping him !) and made a list like the one on FMG America listing all things we need to consider before applying (advantage of spouse being in software field). He makes list for scheduling interviews when, travel plans, finance, loves collecting stats on every year selections , seats unfilled etc etc....when I was studying he used to cook food, take care of the home stuff too.. But I guess I am catching on his spirit for interview saeson too and for good. He has been an incredible support system for me through all of this and we are just hoping to find residency in a place where he can a find a job too and we dont have to live separately... Till then I will keep checking my emails every 10mts !

That's really amazing. I'm currently living away from my wife at the moment. She's back in Pakistan while I'm trudging ahead with residency rat race over here in the US. We figured out a way to communicate easily, with online smses and daily phone calls. I miss her a lot and we're sacrificing a lot being separated like this, especially since I left Pakistan 7 days after our marriage, 5 months ago. I'm trying to manevre myself into a program that she can also get into the following year. She was supposed to join me here, but she had visa problems and is now a year behind. It's a logistical challenge, because I'm always thinking of two matches, mine this year and hers the next. But if it all works out, all the sacrifice would have been worth it.

Match is most the humbling experience I've ever had. Trust me, the stress level will mount if you don't take care of yourself. It's still early in the game, so pace yourself. Movies, dinners, shopping, or talking to friends will all help. Last year when I went through the Match, I got heavily involved at church (I had a full time job), it helped me so much when I felt I was still useful. Good luck people.
