you are so naive (and so your questions are), that the best advice to you would be to read posts on this forum and to use Google, at least periodically... And start from ECFMG website,-seems like you have no info about is as well...

Thanks for your answer . really i am new at this website , there is problem in forum they use only abbreviations for example USMLE Od . really i donot know what mean od
i will be million times thankful if you or someone can answer my questions
i am studying in germany and we have german system and thats why i have problem in understanding all these abbreviations..
i am dumm in these abbreviations.

hi iqbal, 1st of all u need to make an account on ecfmg website just go to ecfmg.org & click on OASIS and then establish an account as a new user (its free) then check the requirements for the exam u r planing to take(step1 or step2) make sure u understand what is required to apply for your exam...u can apply online using oasis and paying fee online ,,u will be assigned an eligablity period of 3 months (u can choose when u want to give ur exam) then u must mail the documents required (ur diploma,ID,etc.) to ecfmg. once u have successfuly submitted ur application they will send u orientation material which is on a CD(compact disk) it contains orientation material to all of the steps.this is the usmle cd that u mentioned.
u need to decide which review books u want to study kaplan is used by most (try ebay u may get a good deal) there are other series that u can use..depends on ur resourses and concepts.
then u need to practice MCQs (multiple choice questions)..steps are difficult and time management is really important so u must be able to use information and concepts and apply them in short period of time during real exam so practice is the key...there are many surces many MCQ books are available in market especially for steps preparation e.g kaplan Qbook is one .then there are online resouces which are better in many ways e.g u can pracice using time mode or tutorial mode and they give u feedback on ur performance and then u can focus on ur weak areas ..kaplan Qbank is one(expensive) just go to kaptest.com and get details..usmleworld is another(less expensive) go to usmleworld.com to get details.
and ofcourse if u have decided which exam u wana take 1st browse through old posts in that forum especially exam experience where people share their prep. source and time table and u get some sense of difficulty of exam.
