why hepatic carcinoma? i think it is because they assume that she will have to take pills (estro-proges)

but what has oral contraceptives to do with hepatocellular carcinoma,though it has a link with various other hepatic tumors like hepatoma,i suppose.do correct me if i am wrong.

Crista, I don't think there is a risk for bladder cancer in pts w/multiple partners. Think about it....why would you have bladder Ca in such patients? Main cause for bladder cancer (transitional cell ca) is smoking. Another bladder cancer (sq cell carcinoma of bladder) is caused by protozoa schistosoma. Main cancer they're looking in pts w/multiple partners is Cervical Ca, secondary to HPV (one of the venerial viruses). You can also have vaginal cancer etc. etc but the main one is HPV. Hepatic Carcinoma? Never heard of it in such pts!

there is no like b/w hepatocarcinoma and pills or hpv. there is a correlation with hepatoma.

The posibility of hepatocarcinoma in patients with multiple parters is due to hapatitis B virus can be transmitted by sexual contact.......and HBV can cause hapatocarcinoma.
