hi,
i took live kaplan course (step2) and have been doing UW since than (about 2 weeks). my score are quite fluctuant (50-63-58-47-52-34!!-65-47) well you get the point! (avg. is 52)
so, i dont know how to judge where i stand, can i still take my exam in less than 2 weeks?
i still have to finish UW, i think i can do that in 5 more days.
can anyone suggest a good study plan for the remaining time?
or any advice.
thanks:confused

wish someone would chime in - would really appreciate it

take NBME. UW score doesn't correlate with the real exam score. It is twisted and made for educational purpose. Take NBME veryyyyyyyy soon if your exam is in 2 weeks.

Some ppl say that form 2 is the closest to the real exam... But if you are not going to postpone your CK exam in any case, I doubt you need the NBME "appraisal", -will get even more confused and scared...
Take last two weeks to read through your main sources including FA for CK... It's a very good review book, believe me...

As for FA, I do think this is a very good book. For example, this is the only book showing points of tenderness in fibromyalgia, and explains difference between it and musculo-fascial pain syndrome...

I do not know what to say about UW as a way to predict your success... I did not do any NBME or UW scorings to estimate my "smartness", and do not know why other ppl do that... You yourself have to feel what you know good and what you know bad, and you do not need any sophisticated tools for this... I thought that the Q in my exam were easier than the UW Qs, but this is subjective... In any case, you need to give your best shot...

you're right, i know it, these are tools to study. i was doing better a week ago and then slacked off and my studies took a beating, im just going to pull it together and regain my confidence and stop analyzing scores so much. thanks for your help. good luck with your results-expecting them early oct. right?
do you (or anyone ) happen to have Q and A for any of the NBME, i would review that at least.

hi guys , i dnt know about ur experience with nbme . but it is never predicted in my case. if u want u can read my post. HOW PREDICTIVE NBME SCORE ??????????

  #10

for step1 i scored 20 points higher on the actual exam than nbme, so yeah it's not predictive for everyone. im actually considering postponing by one week, to have some peace of mind.

hi,
i want to know u liked the kaplan live course or not?did it helped u c/s i m g
o

in to take the same course.

yes, i liked the live course, although i took the intense prep and i would def rec. for you to review the material before each class. it's fast paced, make sure you have time to review durring the course.

so, an up date on me-though no one asked--almost done with UW and my average of the last 10 exams has jumped to a 60, i must say that not emphasising on the score too much. helped me concentrate better, and my score is going up. exam on friday october 5th--wish me luckwink
