most probably ur score doesnot have anything to do with a B1/B2 visa

hi titly,
i was rejected visa with step1 83 score saying my score is below the mean which is given in the score report.
i also havent heard of people getting rejected basing on scores but the bad luck struck me.

below the mean? wat score do they expect u to hv? and i really find no point in rejecting a visa coz u dnt hv a proper score. i mean are the visa officers going to b the ones who r going to test us now?

the mean is given in the score report in three digits and the mean in my score report was 217, the standard deviation was 20. my score was 204.

Yes, they are interested in scores these days. They know very well how important scores are. Either way you should go for visa interview with both scores.

i jus hv my step 1 score. hv my visa interview before i even take my step 2. are there simply no chances dat i get a visa?? i hv already scheduled my step 2 CS.

Going by the past experiences, I would strongly recommend that you study hard for ck and after passing the exam go for visa interview. cs can wait. but then rarely some people have gotten visa with just one score, but thats not what I would recommend to anyone. All the best!

well i was rejected the first two times with just a step1 score of 254, and then i got the visa the third time with just step1 score....lolz
just wanna make a point, how variable things can be....its probably a matter of luck more than anything

ya i was askd the purpose of my trip and so i showed him the ecfmg letter without he asking me to show it. i was jus asked who im gng to stay wit. dats it. and my interview was done.
i hd prepared for all sorts of possible questions dat cud hv been asked. bt i was lucky i guess.
i wasnt asked abt ties.
