An 8 year old boy with Down's Syndrome presnted to a doctor's clinic for routine check up. After examining him, the doctor suspected an abnormality in the heart and sent him for an Echocardiography. After receiving the Echocardiography report the doctor decided to put him on prophylaxis for Bacterial endocarditis. The most likely abnormality that was shown on Echocardiography would be:

a- Osteum primum ASD
b- Osteum secondum ASD
c- Patent foramen ovale
d- PDA

Septum primium defect is the main cardio malformation in Down's syndrome (due to endocardial cushion defect). Check first aid, autosomal trisomies. It's stated in there!

Ok, here are some other things I came across my studying that u might find helpful:

Main cause for VSD: Cri Du Chat, Trisomy 18
Main cause for ASD: Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Main cause for PDA: Rubella
