Two studies were conducted in the same population to assess the relationship between oral contraceptive use and
the risk of deep venous thrombosis (DVP). Study A demonstrated increased risk of DVT among oral contraceptive
users with a relative risk of 2.0 and a 95% confidence interval 1.2 – 2.8. Study B showed the following results: relative

risk of 2.01 and a 95% confidence interval 0.8 – 3.1. Which of the following statements is most probably true about
these two studies?

A. The result in study A is not statistically significant
B. The result in study B is biased

C. The result in study A is not accurate
D. The sample size in study B is small

E. P value in study B is less then 0.05

D, sample size is to small hence the larger variance in the C.I.
