hi guys , i read this forum so many times . but i have never tried to write down anything on it. i would like to right down something that can build your confidence.
i got 94%(227) in ck . i did UW once but i read its note which was written by me . i did nbme 2 14 days ago and i got 450 ( 203) . i was so shocked and i thought about extending my exam . but it was this yr match tension. i went to exam and finally i got this score.
my question is how predictable nbme is ? ans : in my case never .
1) in step-1 , i gave nbme -2 2 weeks ago and i got 550(235) but in usmle i got 87% (211)
2) step 2 u know that
so never get depressed bec of ur low nbme score .
but judge ur score by UW score and usmle cd test which is provided by ecfmg. if u get good score on these . go ahead and get it.

Hello dstar, Congrats on a great score! ( I think anything above 90 is super)! Also thanks for the encouragement, as i am freaking out right now...trying to take exam next month but not done my review and still have most of uw to do!?
What was your uw score? and usmle cd score?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks and Congrats again!

I got a 400 on form 2....postponed it for oct....I guess it safe to wait till i get over 430? before going for the exam

Is the real exam similiar to usmleworld? did you do kaplan Qbank? How about the USMLE CD?
Any advice would be welcome.. thanks!

in step1 i got 98 and 89 in nbme....
i landed up with 93 in real step1...
hey which nbme form has to be done for ck?

i agree with this obsevation too. I took my nbme 6 days before the real one and got 630(predicted as 245/99), but for the real one i got 263/99. I guess it depends on the exam day---being confident that you can do it, being ready to sit through the 9 hour ordeal makes a lot of difference. All the best.

hi guys , i did uw as a perfect exam, like all subject with timed. and i got overall 65% . but in last 400 question i could manage to get above 65%.
i have tried two 8 hrs uw block session. bec i didnt have time to finish uw in 1 months.
truly says. i finished my cs exam on 25th june and i have done my 1st reading before i went to cs. i started again after 27 th june. but i found difficulty bec i forgot everything. . i took my exam on 30 aug. so i hardly got time for preparation.
i got 41, 43, 41 in usmle cd.
imp point for u is that . make uw notes in which write down imp points. read all the points just 2 or 3 days before ur real exam. its help alot.\
want to get real exam experience ????????
ans: do 8 blocks of uw - find 0ut ur score if it is above 63% overall. i am sure u wil get more than 90 in real exam.
bec if u can do 8 blocks of uw,,,,,, than ur brain can accept any challenge for real exam.

That was a lot of encouragement you gave us thank you so much...Few weeks back I gave NBME form II and I got 450 in that, I was so freaked out and I postponed my exam and finally gave it last week. When I got such a low score in NBME I kept a post here but no one really bothered to reply. I confided in God and just went ahead and gave my exam. It was as tough as I expected,I read your post just now and I feel much better. Now I am just waiting for the score keeping my fingers crossed,don't know whats in store for me whatever it might be I am prepared to face it and move on......thanks again

I think because the whole thing is so relative, what happens to everyone may no happen to you. but from a statistical point of view, you are most likely to fall into a particular group..that group as far as NBME is concerned is the group who have a very good correlation with their respective NBME and exam scores...the vast majority gets within 10 points of their scores..you can see that when u look at exam experiences in this forum and SDN..I would suggest that u judge ur NBME scores very carefully..if two consecutive NBMEs give u low scores, that might mean ur underprepared..
it might not be the perfect assessment, but invariably it has proven to be the best so long..and dont forget NBME self assessment is by the guys, who conduct the real test..good luck to all
