A 4 yr old child who has had repeated infections with staph and strep, has normal phagocytic function and delayed hypersensitivity responses. Lymph node biopsy will most likely reveal

A. Absence of postcapillary venule
B. Absence of germinal centers
C. Defective chemotactic response to neutrophils
D. Depletion of paracortical areas
E. Depletion of thymus dependent areas.

i don't have the answer but why do you choose B?

case shows intact cell mediated immunity,
but recurrent bacterial infection :arrow: block in B cell maturatuion which occures in germinal centers of lymphoid tissue :arrow: absence of germinal centers.
