I took my exam on 29th Aug. U can see my experieces. I want to tell you. This is fair exam. This is not luck as one of the Kaplan's lecturers said. I am so happy with my score. Now I finished all steps in 6 mothns. This forum is helping me a lot. I am old grad in 1991. Decided to take USMLE a yr ago. My study is very interrupted. I am working in medical registrar oncall in busy district hospital with no leaves. Setp II CS , study for less thn 2 week. My 2 weeks mean I am working in 9 to 5 with some oncall. I studied for 2 hrs a day. I studied for step II for 2 months. ( 2 to 3 hhs per day) I am working full time. Before and after exam was oncall. Just took leave for exam day. This is my rota. Not enough study. I did UW for all steps. Very predictable. My UW score ( time, unused) is 65% , 70 percentile. In real exam, I got 223/ 93. I finished at least 10 mins earlier and I didn't read properly. I dropped the points. My step I and 2 was only 6 weeks apart. I had a week of night before exam and a week of day. My total preparation is only a couple of weeks. ( My prearation is reading froum and exam experiences) I have no time to do other materials. I only did UW. I listened Kaplan's lecturers after work. I didn't read any notes. I read FA and Crush step II for a few days. My time is very limited. I never study any thing about internal medicine.Cos I am career medic. JUst for correlation: My UW score ( time, unused is 69%) My IM is 75% and others(surgery, ob/gy, paed, Psy are between 60 to 65%) I took my exam on 8th Aug. Exam didn't finished because of prometric system failure. After 2 and half block, computer said you finished your session. WE have to rebookand trying to get the date.Very stressful. Can't sudy for 2 weeks. Then, got the permit after calling and e mailing several times to ECFMG and NBME. Then got the date on 29th Aug. revised for 2 days. I didn't do any NBME. Just read in this forum. Didn't do Kaplan Q bank. Exam is not easy. I missed one Q. I was thinking the answer, exam stopped. I was sad. I found difficult in psychiatry. ( I am telling you, UW is very preditable) My psychiatry in UW is 60%, 48 percentile. In realy exam, I got all good performances in other subjext except psychiatry.( You can improve if you have time, I have no time to improve my psychiatry) My advice is ---> master UW. FA and Crush ( Adam Brochert) for quick review. If u get good score in UW( unused, time) , u ll get 99 for sure. My UW is 69%. I got 251/99. My USMLE CD 44, 40, 38 ( 2 weeks before exam) So happy for that. Just realx and take it easy for exam. ( read all the exam experiences and take it good point from there) I am happy to answer all the Qs. I am in step III forum now. But, I will come back and check my step II forum. This forum is really helping me to finish all the exams in 6 months. There is no discrepancy with UW. I don't know about NBME and others. Best of luck for exam takers.

Hey Hanwin, Fantastic score!!! You deserve it! I had read your posts earlier describing what you went through when the computer froze for CK.. that must have been terrible. But in the end, everything worked out! Good luck for step three!

Thank you everybody. This forum support me a lot during my preparation. I was busy for a week. Now, I would like to tell a few tips to get good score. It will be useful for somebody. My study material: UW x2 Read explanation . Make notes. Before UW, I listened Kaplan lecturers. To be honest, because of my limited time ( my step I and II in 6weeks, I had a week of night oncall and a few days oncall), I subscribed UW for a month only. I didn't know anything about psychiary, Obgy, Surgery and paed. I was confuse with adjustment disorder, PTSD, bipolar and all sort of things I didn't learn from medical school. I try to find out waht is DPL and the use of it. I am working full time. My study time was 2-3 hrs per day. But, I listened Kaplan lecturers and answered Q from UW. Then read expalnation from UW. I think you can finish lecturers in 10 days. Need to listened 5-7 lecturers /day. I can listen on weekends only. I read forum everyday. You will get new NBME q daily. Yes, because of system failure without any explanation, I have to renew my UW for 3 more weeks. But, I couldn't study for 2 weeks. Last week before exam, I revised UW only wrong Q. Take a break after every block. Sleep weel ( but very difficult). Eat well. Bring lots of food and juice. I didn't take lunch break but took 10 mins x 2 to have sandwich and banana. I think UW is the best. Listen Kaplan's lecturer. You will find USMLE easier to get high score. Good luck for everybody.

Hi Gogeta, I read exam experiences and score thread. I did uw ( time mode, unused Q) For step II, if you get >60% in UW, you will get > 90 percentile in real score. I got 69% in UW. When I spoke to my friends before exam, they told me you will definitely get 99. Finally, their prediction is true. They don't surprise my score. For me, I had limited time. I was still doing my endocrine clinic before the day of exam. I am career medic and I don't need to study internal medicine. I studied surgery,OBGY and Paed, Psychiatry only.(one week each) Level of difficulty of my real exam and UW is about the same. I didn't do NBME, Kaplan Q bank and others. No time for me. I got quite a few easy 30 sec Q. Also got very long half pages Q especially in psychiatry. But, I was struggling with time management in step II. In my step I, I finished all block 5-10 mins earlier. Questions are shorter in step I. I think OBGY and Paed are between 10-15% each.

To Anuba: I try to read all the explanation both correct or incorect. You learn a lot from UW explanation. To Nueroblastoma, Yes, I have been working in general medicine for long time. Done my MSc Internal Medicine, MRCP a long time ago. I am teaching medicial students for years. I would say I have been studying internal medicine for many years. ( well, I am preparing to be trained in internal medicine again although I am trainer currently) Anyway, medicine is keep changing and we need lifelong learning.
