Hi, guys, I took my test on Aug 28. I feel very horrible and depressed after the test. I really know I made a lot of mistakes ( at least 20 as I know that should be easy to answer, what hell is the unknown?). I am afraid that I can not pass. I ask for consolation here and know many people have the same experience. I feel better and thank you for sharing your experience. I got my score (online email from ecfmg) on Wednesday morning. It is 220/91. I can not believe it and very happy. My English is not very well. When I start to read the books, I have to look in the dictionary frequently. When I did the UW questions, a lot of words confused me and I can not finish 50 questions in time. I am frustrated, thinking when I can take the test? In my test, there are a lot of microbiology and pharm questions. They are the weakest for me. There are a lot of detailed questions, so you have to memory all the things in detail. eg. the bacteria causing subacute endocarditis, you know it is streptococcus viridis, but the question is the subtype of s. viridis. I can not remember clearly. I know the brown fatty is heat-producing, but the question is asking the mechanism. I had at least 3 questions asking the mechanism of antibiotics. There are alot of Neurological CT, HIV genes, biochemistry syndromes including enzyme gene deficiency. The anatomy is simple. My preparation is 8 months. I read Kaplan notes, First Aid, HY neuroanatomy(very useful). Golgian slides. UW, Kaplan Qbank. Because my listening is not well, I didn't listen any video. I read all Kaplan notes (3 months), just read, cannot remember. After first reading, I began to do UW(3 months). I think UW is the best qbank which can help you understand and memory and intercross of knowledges. My UW was 49%. After UW, I read the second time of Kaplan notes. It seems easier for me. My NBME is 500 3w before the test. I can not believe I can get that score! I know it is the help of UW. I did Kaplan qbank at the last month. Some questions are easy and some are weird. At last I can get about 70% in Kaplan qbank. I read FA the last month, it is very helpful to summarize your knowledges. Thanks, Hope it is useful. If I can, you can.

Thanks a lot. guys. To:ShweHope99.9998 : I did not do web path, net anatomy , Robin Review Qs. Concentrate one series books and really understand it----most important. Other books can be references. If getting a excellent score, maybe need more books. To:Stepin2007: I only took NBME1 3weeks before the test. This forum recommends NBME 2. If I know it earlier, maybe I would take NBME2. Good luck to everybody!

Hello Nui! I have read through your exam experience and I could not help but post a quick reply to your post because that is exactly what I feel now. I feel horrible and a bit depressed. I also prepared for around 8 1/2 months. I enrolled in the Kaplan review and did it fairly diligently. There are times when I would have short breaks like a day or 2 because I had to work. Anyway, I kept on postponing my exam because I was overcomed by the pressure.. I even extended my eligiblity period..until I braved to take the exam today. because this month is my last month in my elig period. What is making me feel horrible now is that when i browsed in my reviewers for the answers, I discovered that I had a lot of careless mistakes too. Oh no! Though there were questions that were a bit reflex for us, i don't really know how i fared in that exam. How did you deal with this sort of depression and the agony of waiting? docshing

Thanks. I am offline for a few days. Hi, docshiing, I really understand your feeling now. I had the same feeling to you at that time. Waiting is agony. Actually I calculated my faults many times, thinking the faults I knew are only 20-30 questions. I could have more than 50 questions to be fault, and believe the thing is not too bad as I thought. I feel better. I believe the faults you know are not more than 30, right? You can make a lot mistakes. Feel free to make mistakes.
