Wow kingsofke, you are one lucky man. Although i havent heard that before, you can still go ahead and apply to that program now. If you think its suitable, you can also let the PC know!
But anyway Goodluck!

whoa !! i would definitely call the PD/PC and go for the interview ... question is, isnt that kinda like contacting a candidate outside the match? legal?

is it a email or phone call..they must have messed up phone numbers or emails..apply there first and then go..

just check what they require and u might have a chance...but u want to call and make it sure before u go..u dont want to waste money and later thry would mail you ..."sorry"

Hi, thanks for the replies. It was an email and was sent along with a group of other people. My own opinion is also that there is a mix up. anyways they asked if i was interested and thought they would realise the mistake when they would look at my aamc id which i specifically put in my email. but then they just sent me the interview dates to select from. The PC is definitely overworked cause he dosent write much in the email. its more of an instant message than a mail. Anyways i have told him that i am do interested in coming for interview but shouldnt i apply first wink. Man it makes me laugh so much. anyways l am eagerly waiting for his reply now.

Did you apply to the prelim or transitional program at that hospital. Perhaps that PD shared your application.....

Well things got cleared or did they??
Last email (again a one liner as usual) said
" I have no idea how i emailed you. accept my apologies."

I am not going to say the name of program as my i dont intend to embarrass or riddicule anyone. It was just a funny thing to share. With thousands of applications things can go wrong. My theory is he was typing some ones name with same initial alphabets and used the autocomplete function in his email (as in gmail) and clicked on my name by mistake. but who knows what happens.

I think not using eras server to send emails let this kind of things happen. It could not have been ERAS message because obviously i didnt applied to the program. it will also save people from checking there spam messages (man i have to go through hundered spams daily).

Anyways although i am not going to apply to that program now as it was not in my original plan and i not gonna let a chance happening alter me from it; but lets say hypothetically if i do apply to that program how would be the response. come on guys we humans have feelings and cannot be without bias, so would his mistake will make him give me just a little bit edge of doubt in my application and meaning now i would have slightly more chances of getting interview OR would it make him flinch away from his mistake and to run away from his guilt or whatever of his mistake and make my chances of getting interveiw now a bit thinner.

It was funny anyways, I am wondering what if i actually have scheduled an interview. ????
