AS SALAM ALIKUM ,
Really i want to start this thread that aim to help people who will start their preparation by ratting the subjects that was heavily tested , and this will be achieved by those who take the exam and after that we can know which subject is highly tested not only this but even we can know whic topic of this subject is a high yield.
here are the items of the thread:-

i know that everyone has his own test and his own eperience but of course there will be a common question shared by all , also after 20 or 30 experinces here in this thread the new student will be able to have an idea about the formate of the exam,the high yield topics and the questions asked

for me,
exam date: 11 sep 2007
subj 1: pathology
subj 2:microbiology,behavioral equally tested
subj 3: pharmacology,physiology equally tested
add note:
about pathology the CVS was the master i found a lot of qs about rheumatic fever 2 qs were repeated in different blocks about the pathogenesis of rheumatic fever , my exam was the exam of valvular lesions and cardiac auscultation a lot of qs came from this area , GIT appear alot , little qs from HEAMAOLOGY and CNS.
gross and microscopic pictures were easy and clear except a single slide about the brain
i can say that about 80% of pathology qs were dirct and clear
microbiology: direct qs , single question about mech. of resistence of zidovudin , no question about bacterial genetics , (bact.,virus,fungi all were tested)
behavioral: physician patient relationship , physician patient relationship , physician patient relationship
ethics , 4 to 5 qs about sleep , 3 about child development , 1 drug abuse and easy questions from other topics (behavioral is well covered in the exam)
pharmacology: direct qs except 2 or 3 or 4 grafs about km and Vmax that i used to answer it wrong so i can't say anything about them
physiology: not tough
now the worst part was ( molecular and immunology ) really there were a lot of qs that i didn't understand and i guess a lot to get the answer which i am sure that it was wrong
by the way biochemistry was mainly about enzyme and it didn't exceed 15 to 20 qs
anatomy---->upper limb nerves and muscles mainly
neuroanatomy---->wasn't as much as i expect
emberiology---->direct qs
CT,X-RAY,BRAIN SECTION,SPINAL CORD SECTION: not much and were easy except one that asked about demonestration of abd. hmg.
these things as i can remeber , i hope it will be helpfull and i will write again if i remeber new qs and when i recieve my score

dr falcon during your last month of preparation try to repeat reading first aid as much as you can untill you can memorize it as one of my mistakes is that i under estimate the first aid
also try to reveiw your incorrect and marked Qs in usmleworld
try to focus more and more on the biggest subjects like (pathology and micro) as lately they are heavily tested
don't miss the ethics and the physician patient relationship
try to be strong in grafs
AND THE MOST IMPRTANT THING IS TO PRACTICE A FULL LENGTH EXAM IN KAPLAN CENTER IF IT IS AVAILABLE TO YOU AS I HAD NO TIME TO DO THAT BUT NOW I FEEL AND I AM SURE THAT THIS WAS MY BIGGEST BIGGEST BIGGEST MISTAKE as i was so tired during the 5th block in the real exam

for dr shohreh i don't know exactly the passing percentage but as i said if you could get 75% of the qs in the NBME form 2 right you will get above 87 or 88 as i have got 80% of this form qs right and i have got 99/236 in the online form

Hi dr mohammad frist of all congrats for scoring 90 in step1.I was going through your post ,u mentioned that u got 99/236 online nbme ,and ur real score is 90 .I have never seen seen so drastic change between nbme and real score ur must have been a difficult test,but u still pulled through good score .good luck

for dr sam27 i think the problem was that i did the self-paced NBME which give you 4 hours for each block and really i did each block of NBME in about one hour and 10 minutes, so it is very important for evry NBME taker to practice it in a way similar to that of the real exam and it is very important to try the full length practice test ( i think kaplan has one ) to accomedate yourself for the real exam.
one of the difficulties that face me and affect my score is that i got tired during the 5th block so guys try to practice the 7 hours test as long as you can
