Kaplan Qbank USMLE

Hi guys. Just a little feedback from my step 1.
Duration of study - 3.5 months.
Materials studied - USMLEWORLD question bank, First aid and Goljian lectures only.
I did not touch any of the kaplan books (was short of time.........very short I guess!!!Lol). Did not do the kaplan videos either.
Score - 220/91
Relieved it's over.............and with a score in the 90's.
Would not advise fellas to limit themselves though.......in terms of materials to study with. Just glad it worked for me. I also believe it may work for a few others as well.
Meanwhile, i'm an old img. Graduated 7 years ago.
Happy to answer any questions.

Really great work...dude!

Congrats!!! Can you tell us how you feel about the test? Can you elaborate on how your preparation helped you answer the questions? I mean its known that the test has a mixture of questions - some easy some tough. How was your thought process when you came across tough questions? How differently would you have prepared the same material that you used - UW FA and Goljan, now that you know how the test questions were. (phew, too many questions grin)

Guess i would have done the same thing i did this time around. Afterall, it earned me a good score!!! With more time though, I would have gone tru the kaplan books or perhaps just the dvds. During the exam, i'd say it was business! Smile at the easy ones, get em out of the way and move on, hoping the next would be easy. Cring at the hard ones, brainstorm and guess if u have to. My advice - prep hard!!! Goodluck pal.

Dude!!! No, not your name, just really DUDE!!!! Would you please care to elaborate more on this? When you came across hard ones - you did "cring" and "brainstorm" and "guess"! When you "cring" - how long did you take for such questions - 1 minute, more or less. When you "brainstorm" don't tell me you "created" thoughts, you obviously depended on your "memory" - that memory, is it long term - the memory you retained from your medschool days, or is it the memory from your limited prep - UW FA Goljan - and you were able to twist and turn by your intelligent thought process to derive the answer - all within the given time limit. So here would you accept that the brainstorming sessions were based upon your prep sources - UW FA Goljan - or was it also helped by your previous learning status (from medschool, after 7 years)!!!!!!!! And when you "guess" did you guess because the questions were entirely undoable - and if so would you not blame your limited prep for that inability, or do you think if you prepared more or differently you would not have had the need to guess (or guess less number of times)????? gringrin no offense please, if this post had a rude flavor!!! just wanted to make it spicy. won't mind if you replied with the same flavor!!!!cool
