For sometime now, i have been thinking why some programs named below called others for interviews and ignored me and some of my friends. It had to be something in our credentials. So as i searched, i found those who recieved ivs, their scores are anywhere from high 80's to high 90's, yr of graduation < 1-5 yrs mostly, no attempts, US experience anywhere from some to none, visa status anywhere from j1 to H1 to GC or even citizenship. Personal statements aren't read until right before your interview. So what was the deciding factor? Well most of the people who got invitations have worked in their home countries or UK as an intern, done housejob etc etc. These hospitals making early calls need people who can work right away without much training because these places are small community programs that do not have time to train people.! Names of these places, st barnabas, interfaith, kingsbrook, seton hall, wyckoff, Suny upstate winthrop etc etc Do you agree?

No. It's too early. Most programs aren't sending out interviews yet, they are still reviewing applications....

Dear bbb, These are the programs i was counting on, they were anywhere from not too competitive to downright bad programs but most of them have selected their candidates. I applied to these places only because i thought i had a chance here. If these have ignored my application then what are the odds good programs will call me? Last year they started calling sept 14, this time they started sept 4, considering that its not early. Let me list the names of programs that have already invited tons of people, 1.st barnabas. 2.seton hall 3.kingsbrook 4.winthrop 5.nyc metropolitan 6.Suny upstate syracuse. 7.wyckoff. 8.umdnj 9.jhu/sinai program 10.crozer chester. 11.caritas carney. 12.maimonides 13.guthrie packer. BBB i know you care for us and have a golden heart so you try to calm us but this year match looks omnious! In any case we love you

That's 13 programs out of how many that applicants can apply to? That's still a small number. I have been talking with some PCs that I know from around the country and only one has started her invites. And that's because she wants vacation in October and she's doing it early.....

Although the authority (BBB) has spoken, and I agree that it's still VERY early in the process, I still agree with step2ckjan07. And also as match process goes on, you all will be very surprised to find step2ckjan07's observation will apply to about 80% of the programs in regard of FMGs. Someone might quote the NRMP's number of 50% match rate, but that number is for people who had entered ROL, there were just too many more who had entered through ERAS, but never got any interviews, they were not counted in NRMP's statistics.
