They lost all interest in the rest of the interview day and a few left early. But they wasted their trip to see me, and wasted our time interviewing.

EAD is always better for residency positions because you dont require any visa sponsorship. Having said that getting an EAD even on an adjustment application marrying a citizen can take at least 4-5 months at the earliest I believe. So when you go for interviews and tell them about EAD have that in mind. Also with EAD you can travel but you need to have an Advance Parole...(AP)....you need to apply well in advance since it takes forever to come.
