A PD at the place I observed promised to grant me an interview awhile ago. I just sent out my application and am wondering whether I should contact the PD to let him know that I applied, so my application will not be screened out due to a large number of applications. Or it's a bad idea because they are too busy to be bothered at this time? Thanks for your opinion.

Googluck-USMLE, I am talking about this one PD whom I personally have spoken with and who remembers me. The only thing I worry about is my application gets killed by the coordinator already before it can be seriously reviewed. I also worry about pissing them off just as you said. Thanks for your repsonse. smiling face

I think it won't harm to call the PD. If you worked with him,I don't think he will be pissed off

Call or email the PD and let him know that your application has been sent. Let him know how much your enjoyed your observership at his institution. Can't hurt a thing.
