HI I am giving step 2 on 31st march , what should I read for quick
revision. I have not revised CMDT, but I have read it during my final year . presently I stcik to highlights of step 2 (kaplan lectures), kaplan
books and a CD for step 3 that is USMLE line , PLease let me know , though I am member of this site since october , but I could not access
internet from last four months , I have read all posts till nov by delusional and shreesh tamiriko and esp loser gal . I came here to check few posts by loser gal in which I have doubt which I have noted . hey please explain
me a little about ,1 lewy body dementia ,
2---endometrial CA risk factors - obesity, HTN , Smoking , Family history which is most significant ?
3--immunization sch for normal pregant women and in a women who is never immunized and in a women who immunization is complete till age of 4 years only ?
4--any relation of anxiety to intravascular hemolyisis or say rise on indirect bil , either through any anti anxiety drug?
5-- prodrome of herper simplex infection? can itch ,,only itch on wrists be the only presentation of primary herpes simplex ?more approp for primary herpes simplex?
6-- singnificance of cat bite and cat scratching and there sequence of treatment , difference in treatment if bite bound has been covered with some crust. and is not open to cleanse ?
7-- new born with clavicular fracture -- chances of permanent nerve injury - treatment modalities ? here I mean to ask , what can be significance of clavicular fracture , its can be due to shoulder dytocia and assisted labour , am I right do let me know more causes , and what injuries hidden or apparent can be there with clavicular fracture which we should look for ,,,
OK these are seven doubts ,,,, ohh I dont know how to seee EKG :haha ,, lets seee ,

I will try to answer a few questions I hope it helps
1)
Lewy body dementia has been recently recognized as a specific type of dementia different from
Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. On autopsy there is evidence of Lewy bodies
throughout the brain, including the cortex. Mild parkinsonism may or may not be present.
Paranoia and delusions are more common than in Alzheimer's disease, and treatment with
antipsychotic drugs characteristically worsens the underlying condition. The visual
hallucinations are the most characteristic clinical symptom, making the diagnosis of Alzheimer's
disease less likely.
2) Obesity increases the risk for developing endometrial cancer, and some data suggest that a 10-fold increase in risk occurs if an individual is more than 50 lb heavier than the ideal weight for that person.
3) if in doubt of immunisation status check serological levels give a live vaccine or MMR only after delivery
4)nomifensine was found to cause massive intravascular hemolytic anemia
I dont think it is used anymore?why do u ask?

7) may be we should look for causes that make baby overweight if that is associated or for bone disorders

I am done with the step 2 yesterday ! It was a easy experince in comparison to step 1 . I was able to finish all block in 50 - 55 minutes and all questions are from Kaplan books and notes and infact I guess there is no need to readany otherthing ,
CHF ____ almost 100+ questions from this topic and various causes of it , few EKG may be one or two CT scan , few blood smears ,and LOT of gynecology ,, but its was too easy , surgery was just general knowledge ,
Psychiatry --- its just the way as she taught us , Alinza !!! 8)
hey ritu are u done with ur step 2 ? well have some good analgesic before the exam LOL serious advice to all . its long exam with only problem of pain in knees and back and some in eyes too ,,
something strange happened with me in exam , in my first 7 seven blocks I was able to solve almost every problem ,its different if the answers I marked right or worng , but in the eigth block ----oppps , it was shocking ,,,, noone out of 46 questions were like that of step 2 exam , they were too difficult and confusing esp asking about the details of superspecialty modalities in surgery as well as in medicine ,
I dont know , how will it effect my scores , but i am hopeful I will get above 85 percentile , or may be lil more in 90 :wink:
