I have come to realize that for example carini in new york closed what happens to the residents that were there

I meant cabrini in new york closed my question as stated is what happens to the residents that were currently in the program

I think they re-position them somewhere else...I have a friend who started residency in california, then his program got closed and they sent him to Detroit,MI...(same specialty and PGY- so he didn't lose anything except big time move across the country to a place he did not want to live in begin with)
