differentiate both ?

Reidel's thyroiditis, the glandular tissue will be replaced by fibrous tissue
de quervain thyroiditis, it is granulomatous inflammation of the TG

de quervain in addition to above would be following a viral infection (mumps, coxsackie) plus tender thyroid

histology should show lymphocytes in Dequevrin.
