Hi guys, I have this dilemma...

Taking into account that this test is supposed to be targeted to medical students, would i be all wrong if I assume that all patients are equally sick with a non threatening condition even when the #1 DD indicates otherwise? Therefore... complete PE will be triggered according to the system involved.

Example...

A 54 yo smoker and diabetic guy comes in c/o chest pain. Now, with more details that won't change my point, we could arrive to two DD, he is having an MI or his chest pain is related to another less threatening condition.

The assumption would be NEVER MIND THE NATURE OF THE DDs, for this PERFORM FULL CV PE (CHEST AND EXTREMITY), ABDOMEN PE (LOOK FOR VASCULAR MURMURS), and finally... LUNG PE?

If we follow that assumption as a general rule of thumb... would we be on the right track to success????

Thank you!
