All right, colleagues,
It is again my turn to tell you about my experience… I took my exam today, and I really enjoyed it!!! I loved it!!!
I am not gonna tell about my prep since I won’t have my score till after Oct 10…

My exam consisted mostly of IM, Pediatrics and OB/GYN… NO, virtually no questions from surgery, just a few (~30) Qs from Psych/Behavioral/Biostats combined… The Qs on the exam are less weird/difficult than those you see from UW…

Length of Qs was OK, around 5-7 lines +/- labs which were easily manageable… Virtually all long Qs were from Psychiatry, but again these were only a minor (troublesome) fraction of the Qs…

Have had 2 video/audios, and these were the last Qs in block 3 and 7… I had only 60 secs to answer those… The time to close the window took ~2-3 secs, and even after that it takes some time to “activate” the system… In one block I did not have time to close it and in another block I did not have time to listen to it… Both were from cardio Peds section… Hope both Q were experimental…

Had two images from derma (psoriasis and papillomas on the finger) and one image of the a vulva (to relax) with a mass lesion …

Overall: the exam is very much fair… Covers everything, but I had an impression that I had a lot of Qs from DM II… Had nothing I hadn’t read about… Time management is a key, but practicing at home will not help much as this depends upon the length of the Q you are gonna face with in the exam, not during your prep…

My personal advice: actively participate in this forum by answering Qs others post… No Qs on the exam were harder than the Qs we discuss here…

Finally, I express my best wishes to all my colleagues who contemplate to get in to US residency by actively posting on this forum…

Dear All,

thank you very much for your very kind wishes!!! I really appreciate your thoughts... I also wish you good luck with your prep and USMLE journey!!!

Yes, I did have EKGs, pretty simple - one trigeminy requiring placement of pacer (per answer option and my own knowledge), and an EKG of ventricular fibrillation requiring defibrillation as the Pt was unstable...

Had one OB/GYN tocogram - early decelerations

One X-ray of a humerus with lytic tumor lesion

4 X-ray films of bowel obstruction

One pedigree for sickle cell disease...

I guess that was it...

I will post on my prep protocol when I get my score,-just do not want to be misleading...

Hey GOGETA,
I personally used Blueprints, but my wife read both BP and Kaplan notes, and found these two pretty similar in terms of content... Sorry I cannot be more specific... I am sure you will be fine with either... GLsmiling face

Aha, some old people back here!!! I thought I lost you forever, doc_clotaire and sprint123!!! I recall we started together our CK journey... Thank you guys for your thoughts... I think one day we have to share our photos to better know each other, and, of course, if you are in the US, to get together somehow...
And, as I said before, I am thankful to everybody who takes active part in this truly great forum...
