30 m.o child is brought to a pediatrician for a regular well-being check-up. Child has met all developmental milestones, and all vaccinations are up to date. Physical examination is unremarkable. However, mother noticed that child always starts crying when she or husband leaves him alone in a room, but in about a minute being by himself he returns back to a normal play. Aswer:
C. Child develops understanding of object permanence (an object - e.g. a parent still exists even if he can't see him) around 36 months of age. It causes disappearance of separation anxiety.
