Ana,
I've been a silent reader to this forum for almost a year now, I applied for last year , and could not get any position, I was outraged just like you and then very very sad, but then I felt like there is a thing waiting for me at the end, and GOD is not going to leave me alone in my darkness, and I am still hopeing for something to come, your success is a light for me, God bless your heart, you made me believe that a good thing is going to happen to me too.

Dear all...
Thanks for your wonderful words... as you can imagine, I have been running up and down to put everything together before I start... God has been merciful to me and I have no words tp paise Him and thank Him for this miracle.
Power... It is OK.. you will find somethin, last year the wife of a good frien found something in august and not only that... it was preliminary... she didn't match again this year, and guess what? she just signed her second year contract because there was a last minute opening.... So keep hope, up and your eyes open...
To my favorite groop of moms ... WE HAVE THE POWER... God doesn't let us alone... because we are stewards of his creation... So keep the power we will all make it 
I am getting virtually drunk, because I have no time to get really drunk but ... anyway.. this is too long now... thanks to all for you rsupport ... Arelete... Chiqui I love you girls...

hey Ana Congrats, thats a wonderful news. we all r very happy for u.
how did u find this position( if u want to share, just for an idea as we r on same boat) and as u said one of yr friend got some thing last yr in last minute opening. i mean do we have to call the program to find out whether they have any position. i have registered with findaresident.com but seems like its useless .

Ummah... hi, well I think youwill not hear abourt positions in any website or by calling the programs.. what helps you in the offcycle positions are contacts, the people you met while you where doing observership, or some family member/ good friend that is in the program, can find out for you. even then, some show up in some websites (i.e. ACOG website) but they are sort of hidden and you have to know the page well to be able to find it.
I prey that you can find a spot too

hi everybody,
soo happy to join u
am really inspired by u all specially wonderful Arlete
am staying home mom for my 18months daughter
graduate 1995 & studying for step 2 for 2yrs now!
i know it takes me sooo long but i feel not ready yet for exam!
my score in qbanks around 60%
am trying my best and hope i can make it soon
thanks Arlete for your idea about trying NBME
will do it after finishing kaplan qbank
and will see my score then!

Welcome to the club... we all have been through the tough phases of not feeling ready for the exam and been paralized by fear, but don't worry you have come home we will be your support and you will find the self confidence you need to take the exam by logging periodically and listening (reading actually) to other moms stories... we are here to help each other with tips and virtual arbor mists (right Arlete?) follow your heart and you we will all be hear next to you celebrating...
Take one day at the time, study as much as you can even if that means 2 hours when your 18 month old is taking her nap... and be sure that hard work pays off

Wondering if anyone knows the dose of folic acid we should take pre and post pregnancy date, it is 400mg or 800mg per day?

0.4 mg = 400 micrograms
4 mg if previous neural tube defect fetus history

Hey Ana, congratulations. Way to go. This proves that the fight is not over until it is over. God is faithful. Another friend also just got a spot. I was very happy for her , and for u 2 but a bit sad for myself. But I will wait on Him , He has been a sure rock thru thick and thin. But good job Ana. Be the best you wre called to be.
