So inspiring to read your posts Wondering if anyone knows the dose of folic acid we should take pre and post pregnancy date, it is 400mg or 800mg per day? Wish you all great success both as a mom and a doc!

For needhelpplease, I guess it won't help but may be you can work it out depending on PD. As for IVs in late Jan and early Feb, yes you do get IVs mostly form cancellations. Good luck.

hi moms, I am hopefully finally done with the USMLE's. The first day I felt brutalized I understood what everyone says when the call step 3 the most difficult of the 3. I had a "comfortable" NBME score but I am sure the exam is not going to reflect that score. The second day was much better. In one of my cases a made a big blunder I did not asses the patients stability well enough and ordered intubation which was DECLINED by the patient. I felt terrible and the fear i think made me a lot more careless than i would ordinarily have been. I hope I pass cos my programme i hear has a new rule that says we have to be done with step 3 before the end of first year.

Hi Umma, I got it in Metro health, Cleveland but you can look in the website and contact the program co-ordinators. They have application criteria and it really works if you have some contact.

hello need help please: welcome to the warm mom forum. So I don't really get your point. Are you pregnant? or planning on getting pregnant? If you are planning, I would try to be either NOT pregnant or barely pregnant at the time of interview. Nonetheless if you already are pregnant I would either try to schedule the as early as you can so you kind of tru to hide the pregnancy, or as late as you can so that God permits, you already delivered by that time. They are not allowed to discriminate on the basis of being pregnant, but if you are visibly pregnant I can almost garantee that they will find some excuse to not keep you among their most desirable candidates. It is not impossible to match if you are pregnant at the time you interview, but you will have to put more effort into your application. If you have great scores that will be a great start if on the other hand are so so scores I would apply to as many programs as you possibly can, justto be on the safe side. GL

Thanks for the reply applicant 09 and anamgarcia I am not pregnant now but was intending to get pregnant.I have scores of 95/99 and an attempt on CS and waiting for the result now(which hopefully I should pass).I am a 2007 graduate with no USCE.So,if I am in the 4th or 5th month during interviews.....is it fine......or is it advisable for me to postpone it till i get my residency.

I would postpone a few months. You have great scores, I think you'll be called for a lot of interviews.

docfor99, congratulations for being an expecting mom. Wish everything go well with you and the baby! I am not studying for step 3. Too lazy and want to take a break from studying. And I can spend a lot of time with my two kids. They love the current mom than the mom who was busy studying. I am doing observership in a private office and want to make some money trying to find a job. But it is hard when they realize you can not work for a long time. E20, congratulation for being done with USMLE. So you will enter a residency program this fall, right? Anamgarcia, hope you come back often. Needhelpplease, if you are pregnant during interview season, that would not interfere with your performance. While it would interfere with the interviewer's perspective of you, I guess. So basically I agree with arlete in this regard. On the other hand, pregnant or not is a big decision in your life, wish you make the right decision together with your other half. GL.
