If I apply to a hospital which requires usmle score that is 5 points greater than what I have, do I have any chance? Will my application reach the PD's desk after the initial screening?? What if the applicant has done some good research ?

I can't answer for all the programs. I would say that it's going to depend on the residency program. What is it worth for you? Are YOU worth it?
