what is the size of tumor in cm which is significant to differentiate it as malignant or benign ?

  #5

Ok, here's a question for you:

40 year old woman, smokes a pack a day, also drinks. Has no children. Her mother died of breast cancer at the age of 64. What is the most important factor when considering her for breast cancer?

a) Her age
b) family hx
c) Smoking
d) Drinking
e) Nulliparity

And oh, asmi, i think that size does not matter to kategorize a cancer as benign or malignant. For instance, I know that phallyodes Cancer is quite large but it's benign.
I know that for GYN cancers, a cancer greater than 5 cm is considered for sx but it tells nothing about the nature of the cancer. That's why they have to send the bx for check up after they remove the tumor.

Thanks bela,

and here i think family history is most imp .

  #8

i think nulliparity at this age(40 yrs)
family hx is important but her mom died at 64.which to seems like late in life.

  #9

Family Hx is most important

everything given is a risk factor.... smiling face ..but if we think of most important as a independant factor i will go for
AGE OF THE PATIENT :?
