I am seeing a lot of negative feelings among applicants abt no IV calls. Here is a little thought that might cheer people without IV's. Well i have been lurking around all 3-4 major forums regarding match season. I noticed all the first few IV calls were from insecure mid to low tier programs. Interesting thing is they sent out these interviews to very highly qualified applicants. Many people in the past have debated the importance of double 99's but its evident that atleast these programs loved 99s. Also was the fact that these first lucky ones werent just good scorers but most had USCE, yr of grad 2005-2007, research & publication so to say these were all-rounders. Another interesting fact is Visa and green card factor did not play that much of a big role. Also rarely a few people who had scores in late 80's also got IV call but on probing they revealed that somehow they had contacts in that program or had done externship/observership over there. By this analysis it does not mean that low 90's and mid 80's without IV wont match. It just says that when these impressive applicants will start cancelling unwanted IV's, the other average applicants will start getting calls. So guys dont worry you will get calls, just not in the first round of IV's Goodluck!

It's mostly the waiting game right now - too, too early to get upset or depressed about lack of interviews.....

Exactly. I wasnt too familiar with the "Matching" process, but it is WELL KNOWN that the real game begins in November-December-January. Some programs may even start in October. I say congrats to all those that have received early IV calls, but the theory holds true that a lot of those programs are shaky, at best. Lets all just relax and let things play out. In the meantime, go study for your boards, get an observership, or go on vacation with your family. Sheesh............

Well said everyone......I came out with my husband to SFO while he is attending work meetings. Initially I didnt wanted to coz I thot if some prog wants me to fax some documents etc then what will I do ....But I am glad I did take this much needed vacation. Still I took internet access and I keep checking my emails and this site atleast 3-4 times a day. Better than being at home and literally sitting in front of the comp all day waiting for the slightest activity on my email account. I am just loving the change and feeling good that I decided to come coz nothing much is happening on the inv front !
