Keep in touch with your contacts
List program that is YOUR first choice, do not base it on your chances of being chosen
Customize your personal statements if you are applying to different specialties
keep all your information (programs applied, personal statements, CV, LOR organized - this is important; hopefully you will match but in case you need to scramble, having all your documents accessible and organized is crucial- its a race against time; I used a great software called MatchPoint
Don't miss deadlines
Go for seconds looks - call and ask if you could do one even if they don't offer
